GATE 2027 notification: The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras has released the GATE 2027 notification for the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering. The notification was issued on July 20, 2026, with online applications opening on September 2. Candidates can apply through the official GATE 2027 website.The national-level computer-based examination will be conducted across 30 test papers on February 6, 7, 13, 14, 20 and 21, 2027. The regular application window will close at 11:59 PM on September 27. Candidates who miss the regular deadline can submit applications with a late fee until October 5.• Direct link to visit the official websiteNew test paper introduced for GATE 2027GATE 2027 will assess candidates through a Computer-Based Test (CBT) covering subjects across Engineering, Technology, Architecture, Science, Commerce and Arts. IIT Madras has introduced Robotics & Automation (RA) as a new test paper and revised the syllabus for several existing papers.Candidates are required to check the official information brochure, paper-wise syllabus and eligibility requirements before completing the application.Who can appear for GATE 2027There is no age limit for appearing in GATE 2027. Candidates currently studying in the third year or higher of an undergraduate degree, or those who have completed a degree in Engineering, Technology, Architecture, Science, Commerce or Arts, can apply, subject to the prescribed eligibility conditions.Application fee and registration processThe application fee is Rs 1,000 for female candidates and candidates belonging to the SC, ST and PwD categories. For other candidates, the fee is Rs 2,000. Payments can be made online through UPI, Net Banking or credit and debit cards.Applicants must register using a valid email address and mobile number to obtain an Enrolment ID. They then need to log in to the GOAPS portal, enter personal and academic details, upload the required photograph, signature and documents, and complete the fee payment.After submitting the application, candidates should download and retain a PDF copy of the completed form for future reference.
