Arvind Swamy reveals how his wife Aparna Mukherjee gives him space: ‘She does not force me to attend social events’

Popular South Indian actor Arvind Swami has made an honest revelation about his marriage: how, despite having different views compared to his wife Aparna Mukherjee, he manages to make their marriage better. Swamy, who is always very secretive regarding his private life and affairs, has opened up about marriage, space, family, and understanding. He also opened up about parenting and why personal happiness plays an important role in maintaining healthy relationships.

Arvind Swamy says his wife understands his need for personal space

Speaking in a YouTube conversation with Gopinath, Arvind Swamy described himself as a quiet person while calling his wife a complete extrovert. He said their personalities are very different, but they have learned to respect those differences instead of trying to change each other. “My wife’s personality is completely different from mine. She is very outgoing and naturally comfortable with people. She talks a lot, is friendly with everyone, and is someone people easily like. She is very energetic, while I am a very quiet person. I open up mainly with my friends and otherwise prefer to keep to myself,” he said. Arvind added, “She knows that I need personal space, so she does not force me to attend social events when I do not want to go.”

Arvind Swamy explains how he and his wife respect each other’s choices

The ‘Thani Oruvan’ actor said his wife occasionally tells him when his presence is important to her, and he trusts that she would not make such a request without a reason. “Sometimes she tells me that it would be nice if I came. I trust her enough to know that she has thought about it. If something is important to her, I will go,” Arvind Swamy said. He believes marriage should not become a system of demands or expectations. According to him, both partners should have the freedom to make their own choices while also understanding when the other person needs their support. “If you are happy, only then can the other person be happy. And if she is happy, only then can I be happy,” he added.

Arvind Swamy says parents must remember how they treat their children

Arvind Swamy also shared an important lesson from his experience as a father. He said parents may remember the sacrifices they made for their children, but children often remember something much simpler—how their parents spoke to them. “Parents may spend years thinking about everything they sacrificed, but children may remember only how you spoke to them. Thirty or 40 years will pass quickly, and by then they may not remember your work or sacrifices. They may remember that whenever they tried to talk to you, you were irritated,” he said.Arvind Swamy stressed that taking time for personal happiness is not selfish, as constant stress can eventually affect family relationships. He said even simple things like exercise, fresh air, or some personal time can help a person return home calmer and communicate better with loved ones.
